Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick Statement on the Texas Senate’s Passage of House Bill 7 – Protecting Unborn Children

AUSTIN - Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick issued the following statement today upon the Texas Senate's Passage of House Bill 7, Protecting Unborn Children, by Sen. Bryan Hughes, R-Tyler, on second reading:
"The Texas Senate is committed to protecting the unborn. Today, we passed HB 7 to make sure abortion-inducing drugs cannot be distributed in Texas for the purpose of carrying out an unlawful abortion. Once enacted, this bill will protect the lives of thousands of Texas children. I thank Sen. Hughes for his continued impassioned defense of life in Texas."
House Bill 7, by Sen. Bryan Hughes, prohibits the manufacture, distribution, mailing, transportation, delivery, and prescription of abortion-inducing pills for the purpose of obtaining an illegal abortion.
