M. Jean-Noël Barrot, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, had a meeting with Indian External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar on Tuesday 11 November.
The Minister expressed his condolences following the explosion in New Delhi on 10 November 2025, which killed several people and wounded many others.
The two ministers discussed crisis situations and cooperation in the fight against terrorism.
The Minister and his Indian counterpart agreed to continue deepening the strategic partnership between France and India.
They emphasized the importance of bolstering academic and scientific cooperation during the India-France Year of Innovation in 2026, and ahead of the AI Action Summit, which India will host next year.
Finally, they agreed to work together in 2026, in the framework of the French G7 presidency and the Indian BRICS presidency, for a more effective multilateralism and improved responses to major global imbalances.
