Aggravated Assault - 2100 Block of Joseph McNeil Avenue

Update

GREENSBORO, NC (February 16, 2026) - Greensboro Police are investigating the death of a 33-year-old man Sunday as a homicide.

Marquel Dior Echols died at the scene. Next of kin have been notified.

This is an active investigation. Additional details, such as possible motive and suspect information, are not immediately available for public release.

This is the city's second homicide of 2026.

Investigators ask anyone with additional information to contact Crime Stoppers.

GREENSBORO, NC (February 15, 2026) - On 02/15/2026 at 12:40 pm, officers responded to the 2100 block of Joseph McNeil Avenue in reference to a shooting. Officers located one victim suffering from life-threatening injuries.

No suspect information was available.
