NV Energy Restores Power to All Customers Impacted by The Bug and Stallion Fires

NV Energy has restored power to all customers impacted by the emergency de-energization implemented in response to the Bug and Stallion fires.

Thanks to favorable weather conditions and the extraordinary efforts of firefighters, emergency responders, and the NV Energy team, the wildfire threat near electrical infrastructure serving affected communities has subsided, allowing damaged equipment to be repaired and electric service to be fully restored.

"Safety is our top priority," said Jesse Murray, senior vice president of energy delivery. "While we recognize the hardship and disruption caused by power outages, emergency de-energization is one of the important tools we use to help protect our communities. We sincerely appreciate our customers' patience and understanding throughout this incident."

During incidents such as the Bug and Stallion fires, NV Energy works closely with emergency management officials and first responders to monitor conditions and make decisions that prioritize public safety. Temporarily de-energizing equipment near an active wildfire can reduce the risk of energized electrical infrastructure contributing to additional ignitions while supporting safer firefighting and restoration efforts.

NV Energy extends its gratitude to Washoe County officials, emergency management personnel, firefighters, law enforcement agencies, first responders, and the many utility employees who worked around the clock to support response and restoration efforts. The successful restoration of service was made possible through strong coordination and collaboration among all responding agencies and organizations.
