Contract extended through Sept. 30, 2027, while NNSA evaluates proposals
National Nuclear Security Administration
August 10, 2026WASHINGTON - The Department of Energy's National Nuclear Security Administration (DOE/NNSA) exercised the remaining Option Period on Savannah River Nuclear Solutions, LLC's contract for the management and operation of the Savannah River Site (SRS), extending performance through September 30, 2027, for an estimated value of $2.3 billion.
Exercising SRNS' remaining option period will ensure continuity and stability of the contractor workforce to maintain focus on key NNSA objectives.
The action follows NNSA's Feb. 27th release of a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the SRS management and operating contract requirement. NNSA is currently evaluating proposals submitted in May for the SRS management and operating contract.
The SRS RFP is posted on FedConnect: FedConnect: Opportunity Summary. NNSA has also established a dedicated webpage for the SRS competition: Savannah River Site Management and Operating Contract Competition.
