Dunwoody, GA - July 28, 2026 - The City of Dunwoody is seeking public input on the concept design for Mt. Vernon Path Phase 3, a proposed shared-use path along the north side of Mt. Vernon Road from Vermack Road to Dunwoody Village Parkway. An online feedback form and more details can be found on the project website.
This phase is the last link along Mount Vernon Road to complete a key connection from Jett Ferry Road and Dunwoody Village Parkway. The project is designed to improve walking and biking access between neighborhoods and Dunwoody Village.
"This project continues efforts to provide safe, connected, and accessible transportation options along a key corridor in our community," said Dunwoody Public Works Director Michael Smith. "We encourage residents and property owners to review the concept design and share their feedback during the public comment period."
The project page includes the concept layout and links to websites for the first two phases of the Mt. Vernon Path. Phase 1 from Jett Ferry Road to Mount Vernon Place includes improvements at the Tilly Mill intersection. Construction will begin later this year. Right-of-way is currently being acquired for Phase 2, which runs from Mt. Vernon Place to Vermack Road.
Public comments will be accepted through Monday, August 17.
