CORREA PRESENTS FEDERAL FUNDING FOR SANTA ANA COLLEGE

Money goes toward funding the college's criminal justice academies

Santa Ana, CA - Today at the OC Sheriff's Regional Training Academy, U.S. Representative Lou Correa (CA-46) presented a $1,031,000 federal check to Santa Ana College administrators for the college's criminal justice academies. The funding will go towards enhancing regional training programs and facilities to meet the current and future demand for correctional and peace officers throughout Orange County and beyond.

"When young students in central Orange County are interested in careers in public safety and want to be part of the solution of keeping their neighborhoods safe, Santa Ana College does a great job at training them to become the next generation of law enforcement," said Rep. Lou Correa. "This federal investment in Santa Ana College's criminal justice academies will open career opportunities for local students and add to the number of police officers in our community."

"Santa Ana College and the Criminal Justice Academies are deeply grateful to Congressman Lou Correa for his continued commitment to law enforcement training, public safety education, and student success," said Ernie Gomez, Associate Dean of Santa Ana College's Criminal Justice Academies. "This U.S. Department of Justice grant will help enhance our law enforcement training programs through updated equipment, technology, and resources that better prepare current and future public safety professionals. We appreciate Congressman Correa's investment in our academy, our students, and the broader law enforcement community we proudly serve."

This money for Santa Ana College's criminal justice academies is part of the FY2026 community project funding that Rep. Correa secured for California's 46th Congressional District, which totaled more than $14.4 million overall.
