The first-ever field logistics conference brought together logistics experts from both the field and the headquarters. For three days, they shared their expertise and best practices to improve operational readiness and strengthen support capabilities.

The primary driving force behind the conference is to create a dynamic knowledge-exchange platform for those operating from behind their desks and those with hands-on operational experience. As the complexity of Frontex operations increases, the Agency requires shared standards, faster problem solving, and closer cooperation. To meet these operational realities and adapt logistics to the changing operational needs, we need to build a bridge between field operations and the headquarters. Only through joint effort and structured exchange of practical experience can logistics provide mission support that ensures long-term operational continuity.

The conference was built around three essential pillars that provide the foundation for future-proofing logistics: flexibility, foresight, and responsibility. These pillars guided all dedicated sessions, afternoon working groups, and interactive discussions that the participants engaged in during the event. A major added value of hosting the event in the field was the unique opportunity for participants to receive specialized, ad-hoc hands-on training directly on the technical and supporting equipment (TE/SE) used during active operations, including fleet and weapons management. Attendees also benefited from targeted networking opportunities to establish closer professional relations, fostering a true sense of community and trust between the field and headquarters.

This event emphasised the important role of LOGISTICS in the Agency's operations. By strengthening professional networks and promoting best practices, the conference has ultimately contributed to smoother information flow and streamlined coordination, which translate into cost-efficiency and better assets use. The participants took home practical knowledge, new ideas, and enhanced skills that will help them support the Agency in achieving the collective objectives.
