Join Cal State San Marcos in celebrating the history and accomplishments of women through Women's Herstory Month. Events are scheduled throughout March to provide opportunities for students to reflect on and discuss their experiences with womanhood and identity. Events are open to all.

Women's Herstory: Voting Rights

March 3, noon, USU 3500

Kick off Women's Herstory Month with the Women & Gender Equity Center (WGEC) and Civic Engagement by exploring the powerful history of women's voting rights. From the suffrage movement to ongoing efforts to protect and expand access to the ballot, reflect on the women who fought for political voice and representation and learn how civic participation continues to shape our communities today.

Women of Color Activists

March 4, noon, USU 3500

Join the WGEC to learn about women of color activists who have been catalysts for social movements and advocacy. Reflect on how their leadership and courage continue to inspire collective action and community empowerment.

Feminist Festival

March 5, 11:30 a.m., Forum Plaza

Celebrate community, empowerment and collective action at the annual Feminist Festival hosted by the WGEC. Connect with campus partners, engage in interactive activities and explore what feminism means across identities while enjoying music, resources and giveaways.

Understanding PMS & PMDD

Join the WGEC and Student Health and Counseling Services for an educational conversation about Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) and Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD). Learn about symptoms, treatment options and how hormonal health intersects with mental and emotional well-being in a supportive, stigma-free space.

Drop the F-Bomb: Women's Health on the Line

Explore with the WGEC how gender and racial bias shape women's health care experiences. Discuss systemic barriers to care and engage in conversation about advocacy and equity within health systems.

Zen Through It

Take a mindful pause with the WGEC and SHCS by creating your own Zen garden. This calming, hands-on activity promotes reflection, stress relief and intentional self-care.

Consent Chat: Exploring Your Emotions in a Healthy Way

Build tools for emotional awareness and communication at this interactive Consent Chat hosted by the WGEC and SHCS. Explore how emotions influence boundaries, relationships and healthy connection.

Spill the Tea: Mother-Daughter Relationships

Join the WGEC, SHCS and APIDA for an intergenerational conversation centered on mother-daughter relationships. Through storytelling and dialogue over tea, reflect on cultural expectations, communication and shared experiences across generations.

Chisme Club: Cultura Sana

The WGEC, SHCS and the Latinx Center invite you to engage in honest conversation about mental health within Latina communities. Explore cultural stigma, resilience and healing practices while building community and connection.

Women's Leadership Summit

Celebrate leadership in all its forms at the Women's Leadership Summit hosted by the WGEC and the Student Leadership & Involvement Center. Engage with keynote speakers and interactive sessions designed to empower students to lead authentically and courageously.

Social Media, Colorism, and Beauty Standards

Join the Cross-Cultural Center and the WGEC for a critical conversation about how social media shapes beauty standards and reinforces colorism. Reflect on the impact of algorithms, influencers and digital trends on identity and self-image while exploring strategies for cultivating healthier online spaces.

Older Sister Healing Circle
