The Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation would like to thank Walter Jim for his six years of service as Chairman of the YKHC Board of Directors. Effective Jan. 23, Moses Owen, Vice-Chairman of the Board, will serve as the Interim Chairman of the Board. Mr. Owen is from Akiak and has been on the Board since 2020.
"On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Walter for his service to our tribal health organization," said Owen. "I look forward to working with the Board and the staff at YKHC to continue the good work being done to provide healthcare in our region."
Mr. Jim has served on the Board of Directors since 2017 and as Chairman since 2019. He will remain on the Board representing Bethel.
Elected by the tribal councils of each of the 58 federally-recognized tribes in the region, the Board of Directors is the chief policy-making body of the corporation, exercising overall control, management and supervision.
