Man caught after breaking into woman’s apartment

At 10:41 p.m. on October 24, Eugene Police officers responded to 1080 Willamette Street after security reported a man was inside the parking structure checking door handles. The security officer confronted him and used a taser to hold him for officers, but he ended up fleeing on foot.

Just as officers were arriving, Central Lane 911 received another call from a woman who had arrived home to her apartment nearby and discovered a man inside wearing her Step Brothers "Boats `N Hoes" T-shirt. She screamed and he fled and was not located immediately.

Later in the night an EPD officer located a man near 11th and Lincoln wearing a Step Brothers "Boats 'N Hoes" T-shirt. He was uncooperative and had to be taken into custody with the help of a taser. He was identified as 42-year-old Carlos Jesus Carter and he had warrants for his arrest. Property was recovered and Carter was transported to Lane County Jail and lodged on charges including his warrants, Burglary in the First Degree, two counts of Unauthorized Entry Motor Vehicle, Attempted UEMV, Theft in the Second Degree, and Theft in the Third Degree. 24-16134
