FDA approves first mRNA-based flu vaccine

The Food and Drug Administration Aug. 5 approved the first mRNA-based flu vaccine, called mFlusiva. The vaccine is manufactured by Moderna and was approved for use in adults 50 and older. Moderna said that it expects the vaccine to be available for the 2026-2027 respiratory virus season.
