Casanare Government, Parex and GeoPark Strengthen Road Bridges in Casanare

The Government of Casanare in Colombia is working with oil companies Parex and GeoPark to reinforce strategic bridges in Villanueva and Tauramena in the south of the department. The bridges are on secondary roads, and their strengthening is essential to improve connectivity and promote the development of local communities.

The Government of Casanare has played a critical role, leading the permitting process and guiding the technical visits that are essential to the project. The joint effort resulted in Resolution 0150 being passed on September 24, 2024, authorizing GeoPark to structurally strengthen the bridges over the Tua River in Villanueva and the Pinalito River in Tauramena.

GeoPark started the works on November 22 with local companies Global Tech Servicios y Soluciones SAS and CIAM S.A.S, as well as bridge design specialist Acerarq S.A., and the 4 billion peso project will be completed in the first semester of 2025. The main objective is to improve the safety and functionality of both bridges, making it easier for communities to travel and optimizing goods transport in the region.

The project reflects the commitment of the Government of Casanare, Parex and GeoPark to developing sustainable infrastructure and promoting neighboring communities' well-being through safer and more efficient connectivity to drive progress in the region.
