Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs delivers remarks at the reception on the 77th Republic Day of India
On 20 January 2026, H.E. Mr. Vijavat Isarabhakdi, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, delivered remarks as the Chief Guest at the reception of the Republic Day of India, and presented congratulatory flower vase on behalf of the Minister of Foreign Affairs to H.E. Mr. Nagesh Singh, Ambassador of India to Thailand.
The Vice Minister underscored the long-standing ties between Thailand and India rooted in shared civilization, history, trade, religion, culture, and linguistics. He also expressed Thailand's readiness to work closely with India in addressing pressing regional and global issues such as maritime security, human trafficking, cyber-related crime, and sustainable development, as well as promoting peace, stability, and prosperity for the benefit of the international community.
The Republic Day celebration marks the 77th anniversary of the promulgation of the Constitution of India, a significant occasion in the contemporary Indian history and for her people. This year also marks the 79th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and India. On 3 April 2025, the leaders of two countries jointly elevated bilateral relations to Strategic Partnership, which will help enhance closer relations and multilateral cooperation in all dimensions.
