An 83-year-old hiker reported missing on the North Rim of Grand Canyon National Park has been located and rescued.
At approximately 6:30 p.m. on July 22, Gerald Guinn of Kanab, Utah, was located during a helicopter reconnaissance flight approximately 2.5 miles from the point where he was last seen. Rescue personnel safely extricated Guinn via a litter carry to a nearby roadway, where he was evaluated by emergency medical personnel before being transported.
The park also extends its appreciation to Coconino County Search and Rescue and Kane County Search and Rescue for their partnership and support throughout the operation.
