On October 15, just before 11:30 a.m., staff at Studio 6 Suites, located at 601 Broadway Street, discovered blood throughout a hotel room and immediately contacted law enforcement. At the time of the 911 call, there was no indication anyone was present inside the room.
Patrol officers responded promptly and found 51-year-old Kammy Lyn Pollack deceased inside the room. Preliminary investigation suggests Pollack sustained injuries consistent with a physical assault while inside the room. The Vancouver Police Department's Major Crimes Unit responded to the scene and took over the investigation.
During their investigation, they identified 27-year-old Joseph M. Uriarte as a suspect. On October 17, Uriarte was booked into the Clark County Jail for Second-Degree Murder. He was already in custody on unrelated charges at the time of his booking.
