Kiteworks and Eggsplain Partner to Add Data Policies and Audit Logs to On-Premises AI

Eggsplain's on-premises AI systems add Kiteworks data rules and a record of each AI request

Kiteworks, which empowers organizations to effectively manage risk in every send, share, receive, and use of private data, today announced an alliance partnership with Eggsplain, a Stockholm-based provider of on-premises AI infrastructure. Under the partnership, Kiteworks' data control plane will enforce the customer's data rules to control and track the requests made in Eggsplain's AI platform. The offering is aimed at organizations that cannot send data to a public cloud, such as those in defense and healthcare.

Eggsplain is a Swedish deeptech company that builds infrastructure for private AI. The company's sovereign, "cloud-free" AI platform combines pre-installed Nest hardware, private models, agents, and an AI App Store, so regulated organizations can run AI entirely on their own premises. Kiteworks joins Eggsplain's partner ecosystem as an alliance partner.

How Customers Benefit

Eggsplain delivers the intelligence: a sovereign AI platform with private models, agents, and applications that run on a customer's own premises or in a hybrid environment. Kiteworks delivers the protection and control, running alongside Eggsplain's hardware and connecting through the Model Context Protocol (MCP) so that every AI request for sensitive data is governed.

Every data request passes through the Kiteworks data control plane, where its Data Policy Engine evaluates the data being accessed, the person or agent making the request, and the specific action being requested against the customer's unique data policy rules. If a request does not conform to those rules, Kiteworks can block it, limit what a user can do with a file, or route it for approval.

Every action is also recorded in a tamper-evident audit log that shows who or what made the request and which data it touched. Kiteworks Compliant AI applies the same rules to AI agents that apply to people, ensuring regulated data is protected no matter who or what tries to access it.

These controls matter most in the sectors Eggsplain serves, where data often cannot leave the building. Defense and healthcare are among its primary customer sectors, and the audit trail gives those organizations evidence they can show regulators. For personal data handled in healthcare, Kiteworks supports compliance with GDPR, UK GDPR, and HIPAA. Kiteworks also supports NIS2 compliance for entities in critical infrastructure industries like energy, transportation, banking, and water.

Together, Eggsplain and Kiteworks give organizations in regulated industries a secure foundation for AI they can control, govern, and prove to auditors and the board.
