PebbleCreek 'Ladies Who Lunch' Share with Goodyear Fire

A special event meet-up became something more when more than 35 members of the PebbleCreek Ladies Who Lunch arrived at Goodyear Fire Station 185 with a full lunch spread to thank local firefighters and boxes of new toys for local families. The visit, supported by Barro's Pizza, gave residents and firefighters time to talk, connect, and kick off the season of giving together.

During a brief lunch-and-learn, firefighters shared updates on Goodyear Fire Department emergency services, discussed future station growth, and offered lithium-ion battery safety reminders. The gathering also highlighted how the City supports local families during the holidays. Goodyear Vice Mayor Wally Campbell, a PebbleCreek resident, joined the group and was recognized by PCLWL for her years of service on the City Council.

PebbleCreek Ladies Who Lunch is a social group that meets weekly, supports local restaurants, and organizes volunteer efforts that strengthen community ties-especially for neighbors who are new to the area.

Along with lunch, PCLWL delivered toy-drive donations-from dolls and games to sports equipment-to bolster the Fire Department's annual holiday outreach. Firefighters will distribute the toys so Goodyear kids can look forward to a brighter season. The PCLWL group organized a similar effort last year and plans to keep service projects in their regular rotation.

"We're incredibly grateful for our firefighters and all first responders-their service, their courage, and the safety they bring to our community," said PCLWL's Michele Madoski. "Bringing lunch and toys was a small way to show our appreciation and help the Goodyear Firefighters Charities spread joy to local kids."

Donations of new, unwrapped toys can be made to any Goodyear Fire Stations from 0800-1700. Goodyear Fire Charities will also be setting up a donation tent every Friday from now until Christmas at the Wigwam Resort, by the outside bar from 1800-2000. 300 E. Wigwam Blvd. Litchfield Park, AZ 85340.
