One-Way Traffic Control Next Week on State Routes 88 & 89

Alpine County - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will perform the following highway lane closures on State Route 88 (SR-88) and SR-89 for construction and maintenance work next week within Alpine County. Work will occur as follows:

State Route 88

  • One-way traffic control at the California/Nevada State line for electrical work beginning Monday, August 3, through Friday, August 7, 2026, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • One-way traffic control from Sorenson's Resort to the West Fork Carson Bridge for tree work on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

State Route 89

  • One-way traffic control at the Alpine/El Dorado County line for electrical work beginning Monday, August 3, through Friday, August 7, 2026, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

All work is scheduled to occur as listed but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment/materials, and construction-related issues.
