CARE's 80th Celebration

Last week, CARE hosted a virtual event for supporters, celebrating 80 years of CARE's history and ongoing work in the delivery of aid and development.

The event looked at, with Becki Young the evolution of CARE packages from 1945 through to how CARE works alongside communities around the globe today to save lives, defeat poverty and achieve social justice. We heard from Rosemary, one of CARE's first recipients of a CARE package in 1946 when she just 7.

We first heard from Helen McEachern, CARE International UK's CEO, who thanked supporters for all the support given to CARE over the years and sadly still much needed today.

We were then joined by some of CARE's programme specialists, Jinane Homayra from CARE International in Lebanon and Step Haiselden from CARE International UK, who explained how we plan and deliver shelter projects that help people, especially women and girls, recover after disasters.

We then heard from the Head of Lendwithcare, Tracey Horner, who shared 15 years of highlights with a spotlight on how we help people in low-income countries work their way out of poverty with dignity.

Thank you so much to all our supporters who joined to learn about CARE's work and who continue to support us. This work wouldn't be possible without you.

If you missed the event, below are the presentation slides and videos for you to watch at your leisure.
