The Lincoln Police Department (LPD) today released the results of an impaired driving enforcement project conducted between March 13 and 21. The effort was to enhance impaired driving safety around the Saint Patrick's Day holiday.
During the project, officers working overtime focused on impaired driving enforcement, with on-duty officers also encouraged to focus efforts on apprehending impaired drivers on nights and weekends. Both on-duty and off-duty Lincoln Police Officers made a total of 35 arrests for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs during this time period.
The enforcement campaign was made possible by a grant from our safety partners at the Nebraska Department of Transportation Highway Safety Office.
