Chinese Ambassador to Cyprus Liu Yantao Pays a Farewell Call on Cypriot Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos

On November 10, 2025, Ambassador Liu Yantao paid a farewell call on Cypriot Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos.

Ambassador Liu expressed his heartfelt thanks to Minister Kombos and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus for their long-standing commitment to the growth of China-Cyprus relations and for their invaluable support for his successful performance of duties in Cyprus.

Ambassador Liu stressed that the traditional friendship between the two countries remains firm, and that both sides continue to extend steadfast support to each other on matters concerning their core interests. He also highlighted the ongoing enrichment and development of the China-Cyprus strategic partnership, and briefed on the key outcomes of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.

Minister Kombos expressed appreciation for Ambassador Liu's significant contributions to the advancement of Cyprus-China relations. He noted that China is a global power at all levels, and affirmed that the bilateral relationship rests on a solid foundation with huge potential for further growth. Minister Kombos emphasized that Cyprus highly values its relationship with China, firmly adheres to the one-China policy, and looks forward to further promoting EU-China relations during its upcoming EU Council Presidency in the first half of 2026.
