Celebrate Arbor Day: Ceremonial Tree Planting
GLENDALE, CA- Join the City of Glendale in celebrating its 75th Annual Arbor Day on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at 10:00 AM. The Public Works and Community Services and Parks Departments will host a ceremonial tree planting just outside City Hall, next to the rose garden in Parcher Plaza. Two trees will be planted in the Civic Center.
Event Schedule
This celebration will also mark the 42nd year of the City of Glendale being recertified as a Tree City USA, and the 17th year of receiving the coveted Tree City USA Growth Award. Being a Tree City requires the city to be responsible for tree management, a tree ordinance, adequate per capita based funding for the forestry program, and host a celebration of Arbor Day.
The Growth Award is given for more progressive community forestry programs that demonstrate active improvement and advancement. Glendale achieved the Growth Award this past year due to its first citywide digital canopy assessment, with the goal to enhance the positive impact of the City's reforestation programs by better understanding existing tree canopy gaps and opportunities for tree planting.
