Vice-President of the National Assembly Dragomir Stoynev and Chairman of the Committee on Defence Hristo Gadzhev participated in the 108th Rose-Roth Seminar organised by the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in Yerevan, Armenia.
The theme of the forum, which aims to promote cooperation with the parliaments of Central and Eastern European countries, was "Armenia and the South Caucasus in a changing world: strengthening democracy and regional security."
The head of the permanent delegation of the National Assembly to the NATO PA, Hristo Gadzhev, and the Vice-President of Parliament, Dragomir Stoynev, took part in the forum discussions on the topics "The future and challenges after the signing of the peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan," "Economic challenges and cooperation in the South Caucasus," and "Armenia's partnership with NATO and the EU." The aim of the debates is to facilitate dialogue at parliamentary level on important security issues between legislators from NATO member states and partner countries.
The forum in Yerevan was organized in cooperation with the National Assembly of Armenia, with the support of the Geneva Centre for Security Policy and the Swiss Federal Department of Defence, Civil Protection and Sport, Security Policy. Members of the parliaments of NATO member states and partners, senior government officials, and prominent representatives of international organizations, non-governmental organizations, universities, and others participated in the forum.
The Rose-Roth Programme for cooperation with the parliaments of Central and Eastern European countries was initiated in 1990 by the then Chairman of the NATO PA, Congressman Charlie Rose, and Senator Bill Roth.
