Curl shares discusses agricultural work hazards in Idaho

Cynnie Curl, an associate professor in School of Public and Population Health, shared her research and population health expertise during National Farm Safety and Health Week with Public News Service.

In "Farm safety and health week: Ag work hazards in ID" by Eric Tegethoff, published Sept. 22, 2025, Curl shared insight into the dangers of farming that casts light on The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics data, showing that "2021 to 2023 found farming, fishing and forestry occupations had the most injuries per capita of any profession."

Curl pointed to incidents with pesticides, heavy machinery and manure ponds as some of the many dangers facing Idaho farmers.
