Deputy Prime Minister Dr Jelena Borovinić Bojović meets delegation of French healthcare companies

Deputy Prime Minister of Montenegro for Health and Social Welfare, Dr Jelena Borovinić Bojović, met today with Ambassador of the French Republic to Montenegro, H.E. Cécile Humbert-Bouvet, and a large delegation of French healthcare companies, led by Mr Jean-Pierre Boffy, President of the French Healthcare Association.

The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the French Republic, the French Ministry for Health, the French Development Agency (AFD), and the French Treasury.

The meeting focused on strengthening strategic bilateral cooperation in the healthcare sector, with particular emphasis on the project for the construction of a new University Clinical Centre in Podgorica. The interlocutors also discussed ways in which French expertise and experience could contribute to further improving healthcare delivery in Montenegro.

The Deputy Prime Minister recalled that the dialogue between Montenegro and France on the construction of the University Clinical Centre dates back to the 42nd Government, when she served as Minister of Health. Today's meeting represents a continuation of the cooperation initiated in Paris at that time, and Dr Borovinić Bojović expressed satisfaction with the further development and concretisation of the cooperation established through these earlier contacts, to which the current Government has remained firmly committed.

"The University Clinical Centre is our absolute priority. It is one of the most important projects in the modern history of Montenegro's healthcare system. As a physician who has worked in this system for more than two decades, I am convinced that French expertise, knowledge and technological solutions can make a significant contribution to ensuring that this project is implemented to the highest standards," Deputy Prime Minister Borovinić Bojović emphasised.

The French side presented French Healthcare as a public-private initiative bringing together more than 300 companies specialising in the development of healthcare infrastructure and the provision of integrated solutions tailored to the needs of healthcare systems. The delegation emphasised that supporting the healthcare sector is a priority of French diplomacy, particularly in the context of Montenegro's European integration process.

The Deputy Prime Minister thanked the French partners for their continued support and for presenting their impressive capabilities in this key area, expressing her confidence that the dialogue would result in mutually beneficial cooperation.
