Town of Davie Hosts a Centennial Celebration Kick-Off Event

Celebrate the start of the Town's Centennial Birthday at the Old Davie School on November 16

DAVIE, Fla. - The Town of Davie will host a Centennial Celebration Kick-off Event on Saturday, November 16, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Old Davie School Historical Museum, 6650 Griffin Road. This free, family-friendly event marks the beginning of a year-long anniversary celebration commemorating 100 years since the Town was originally incorporated.

The theme for the yearlong celebration is "100 Years of Trailblazing" and will be reflected in the Town's events.

An opening ceremony featuring Mayor Judy Paul and Town Councilmembers will begin promptly at 11 a.m. All residents and businesses in Davie are invited to attend.

The Old Davie School Historical Museum will provide free interactive activities to learn about Davie's history including:

  • Wash laundry in the Everglades Pioneer Village
  • Write with dip-ink pens in a 1920s classroom
  • Make orange juice in a 1940s packinghouse
  • Take a self-guided tour of the Old Davie School

Parking

Individuals attending the event can park at the Old Davie School Historical Museum. Additional parking will be available at the Community Church of Davie, 6500 SW 47th Street.
