Sen. Rick Scott Tours Hurricane Isaias Damage with Local Officials

DESTIN, Fla. - Today, U.S. Senator Rick Scott held a press conference in Destin after touring damage left by Hurricane Isaias and receiving a briefing at the Okaloosa County Emergency Operations Center on recovery efforts from local officials. Earlier this week, Senator Scott spoke with President Trump and Homeland Security Secretary Mullin about delivering federal assistance to impacted Florida communities.

Senator Rick Scott said, "With every hurricane, we learn more about how to prepare, respond, and recover. Floridians clearly took Hurricane Isaias seriously, and now that we have survived the storm, we will come together to rebuild and recover.

"My role as your U.S. Senator is to ensure all the federal resources are available, and I talked to President Trump about that earlier this week. I'm grateful that he quickly approved a federal emergency declaration for our state. I also spoke with Secretary Mullin to ensure FEMA is going to do their part so every Florida family impacted can fully recover. Floridians are strong, and I will keep working with local, state, and federal partners to make sure our state has everything we need to get Panhandle communities back on their feet."
