Temporary closures will occur this month into next month at County of Maui park facilities in Kīhei, Upcountry and Wailuku, according to the County of Maui Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR).
The closures include the following:
• War Memorial Complex tennis courts and Coach Soichi Sakamoto Pool in Wailuku will close from Saturday, Sept. 27, to Monday, Oct. 6, 2025, to ensure safety during final setup and operations for the Maui Fair. The facilities are expected to reopen for regular hours on Tuesday, Oct. 7. For more information, contact DPR Permits Division at (808) 270-7389.
• Kīhei Aquatic Center training pool will close for maintenance from Monday, Sept. 29, to Friday, Oct 3, 2025. The 50-meter and keiki pools will remain open during this time. The facility will reopen in its entirety on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2025. For updates on pool hours, call the County pool hotline at (808) 270-8208.
• Hāliʻimaile Park baseball field in Makawao closed today and will remain closed until further notice for assessment and pest control. The field will undergo evaluation and treatment as needed. It will reopen once all treatments and follow-up assessments are completed. For more information, call DPR Recreation and Support Services Division at (808) 270-7383.
• Eddie Tam Memorial Park fields numbers 4, 8 and 9 in Makawao remain closed until further notice for assessment and pest control. The fields continue to undergo evaluation and treatment.
