ATLANTA - The Georgia House of Representatives' Committee on Assignments recently named State Representative Jordan Ridley (R-Woodstock) as the Vice Chairman of the House Code Revision Committee. Additionally, Rep. Ridley was named Secretary of the House Energy, Utilities and Telecommunications Committee.
"I am honored to serve as Vice Chair of the House Code Revision Committee and ready to get started on legislation that will benefit and improve Georgia's code," said Rep. Ridley. "By updating Georgia's code, we take critical steps to modernize our laws, ensuring they reflect the realities of today while improving and clarifying the rule of law for our state. As Vice Chair, I will work closely with Chairman Yearta, committee members and legislative colleagues to review and refine statutory language, ensuring Georgia's laws remain clear, effective and relevant to the needs of its citizens."
The House Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker Jon Burns (R-Newington), is charged with making all House committee assignments for the members of the Georgia House of Representatives.
The House Code Revision Committee is responsible for technical and grammatical revisions of Georgia's statutes. Its goal is to revise, modernize and correct errors or omissions in Georgia's code and to repeal those portions which have become obsolete, have been declared to be unconstitutional or have been preempted or superseded by subsequent laws.

Representative Jordan Ridley represents the citizens of District 22, which includes portions of Cherokee and Cobb counties. He was elected to the House of Representatives in 2022 and currently serves as the Vice Chairman of the Code Revision Committee and Secretary of the Energy, Utilities and Telecommunications Committee. He also serves on the Game, Fish and Parks and Public Safety and Homeland Security committees.
