WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Congressman Chris Deluzio (PA-17) announced that four more of his requested community projects successfully received more than $185 million in federal funding in the spending bills passed today by the U.S. House of Representatives. The single biggest item is funding to help modernize the Montogomery Locks and Dam along the Ohio River in Beaver County, with additional funding for local water infrastructure and police equipment.
These successes maintain Congressman Deluzio's distinction as the U.S. House Democrat who secured the most community project funding in 2026 House spending bills. The legislation now moves to the U.S. Senate for consideration. The spending bills must be passed there and signed into law by President Trump in order for this funding to be distributed to the community.
"A key part of my job is bringing back federal funding to Western Pennsylvania-and today's wins are historic," said Congressman Deluzio. "I fought hard for this funding and am proud to advance these federal investments in local police, water infrastructure, and critical lock and dam improvements. Modernizing Beaver County's Montgomery Locks and Dam will be a shot in the arm for Western PA's economy and building trades union workers, and investing in our water infrastructure and local police departments will make life better in our communities. I'll always go to bat for Western PA down in Washington, and thank Congressman Guy Reschenthaler for his efforts to help secure the Montgomery Locks and Dam funding."
Congressman Deluzio selected these community projects after comprehensive outreach to local groups and stakeholders. The community project funding process is coupled with eligibility, ethics, and transparency requirements.
The $185,356,000 in funding breaks down across the following four projects:
Today's spending bill announcements build on another recent community project funding win, where Congressman Deluzio secured $1.2 million to support construction of the Ambridge Borough Recreational Center and upgrades to Tarentum's water treatment plant and pump house. These funding measures have already been approved by the Senate and signed into law.
Congressman Deluzio's office has already brought home more than $4.6 billion in federal funds to the congressional district, and he will keep up the fight to bring home resources to Western Pennsylvania.
