First-of-Its-Kind Virtual Reality Journey “Horizon of Khufu” Debuts in Austin on Dec. 5

Local Female Entrepreneur, Reva Enzminger, and Pioneer in Virtual Reality Entertainment, Excurio, Bring the Great Pyramids, the Nile River, and More to Life

AUSTIN, TX - Nov. 10, 2025 - After a wildly successful first launch in Paris in June 2022 and hosting more than 2M visitors around the world, leading VR innovator Excurio's "Horizon of Khufu" will make its Austin debut at VieVR , Austin's one-stop-shop for all immersive technology experiences on Friday, Dec. 5, 2025, bringing Egypt to the heart of the Texas Hill Country.

Brought to life by local Austinite and technology visionary Reva Enzminger, founder and owner of VieVR (which also houses other hologram and augmented reality experiences at Zoocade ), "Horizon of Khufu" invites visitors to put on a virtual reality headset and explore otherwise inaccessible global wonders. This 45-minute immersive expedition produced and created by Excurio draws on the infinite possibilities of virtual reality to offer visitors an unforgettable experience.

Equipped with a headset, participants can move around freely and experience realistic sensations with their family and friends. The technology and scenario imagined by Excurio makes it possible to use virtual reality in spaces ranging from 3,000 to 10,000-square-feet and to visualize other participants during the experience, avoiding the feeling of isolation usually accompanying VR experiences.

"Horizon of Kufu," is designed to be as accurate as possible with the help of Peter Der Manuelian, professor of Egyptology, and his team at the Giza Project at Harvard University. Using the possibilities offered by virtual reality to enable large numbers of visitors to travel through time and space to the heart of one of the Seven Wonders of the world, guests can take a flight over the Plateau of Giza, an effortless ascent to the top of the Pyramid of Khufu for a breathtaking 360° panorama, an exploration of the corridors and burial chambers of the Great Pyramid during the embalming ceremony, a discovery of the Queen's chamber, and a boat trip on the Nile to attend the funeral of Khufu himself and more.

Also known as the Great Pyramid of Giza, the Pyramid of Khufu is 479 feet high and is the largest pyramid in the world in the Egyptian style. Built between 2,590 and 2,565 BC and dominating the Giza plateau, it was the final resting place of Pharaoh Khufu.

Excurio's Immersive Expeditions are designed to ensure that every element of the experience is grounded in verified architectural, scientific, and historical data. Created and produced by Excurio-who invented this format and developed the technology to power it-Immersive Expeditions stand apart for their ability to accommodate large audiences while creating the vivid illusion of traveling through space and time via high-quality historical reconstructions.
