All City of Garland offices, utility customer service and tax offices, recreation centers and Carver Senior Center, and libraries will be closed Thursday, Jan. 9, as the City remains under a Winter Storm Warning. This includes City Hall, the Jones Municipal Building, Municipal Court, Carver 3 and Fire Administration facilities. Individual fire stations and the Garland Police Headquarters will all be open and operational.
There will be no trash collection on Thursday, Jan. 9. Thursday trash, recycling, brush and bulky collection routes will be moved to Friday, Jan. 10. Friday routes will be moved to Saturday, Jan. 11. The recycling center, transfer station and Hinton Landfill will also be closed Thursday, Jan. 9.
No decision has been made regarding office hours on Friday, Jan. 10, or City programming scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 11.
Additionally, Heritage Crossing canceled its Wednesday, Jan. 8, program, Heritage Handwork After Hours. And a Thursday, Jan. 9, public meeting to discuss details of the Naaman School Road project has been postponed. Officials are working on a reschedule date.
