Charlie Kirk: The Conservative Who Loved America

Charlie Kirk: The Conservative Who Loved America

September 11, 2025

Charlie Kirk was more than a high profile conservative activist, he was a son, husband, and father. Charlie was the son of an architect who grew up in the Chicago suburbs. He finished high school and later attended a community college where he dropped out to pursue political activism, which he devoted his life to. Charlie was an avid public speaker at Republican events and traveled across the country to make his voice heard. He was only 18 years old when he cofounded Turning Point USA, a nonprofit organization that advocates for conservatism on high school, college, and university campuses. The mission was to have open dialogue with young people and to promote the principles of free markets, limited government, and the Constitution.

On September 10, 2025, Charlie Kirk was assassinated in a surprise attack in Utah during his "Prove Me Wrong" American Comeback Tour. State Representative Chris Miller issued the following statement:

"Charlie Kirk was a conservative who welcomed debate respectfully. We are celebrating 250 years of our great nation and respecting life. Charlie believed in free speech, but we have people like JB Pritzker telling the world that Republicans can't know a moment of peace- basically saying if you don't agree with woke ideology then you deserve to suffer. Charlie brought people together for peaceful open dialog on a variety of different topics and encouraged them to voice their opinions- this is democracy. The hateful rhetoric Pritzker spreads must be condemned."
