Lewisville Western Days

Eli Young Band and Randy Rogers band will headline this year's Lewisville Western Days festival on Friday, Sept. 25, 4-11:30 p.m., and Saturday, Noon-11:30 p.m., in Old Town Lewisville.

Western Days is a family-friendly event that will feature live entertainment on six stages, an expanded Western Village, Indigenous ACE Dance Troupe, Kid Kountry Playground, the World Tamale Eating Championship presented by Padrino Foods, and many more family-friendly activities.

Admission to the festival grounds is free and no tickets are required before 6 p.m. each day. After 6 p.m., gate admission is $15, cash or credit, at the gates for everyone except children under 12. Electronic tickets are available for purchase online and at the gates by scanning a QR code. There are no paper tickets for this event.

Festival goers are encouraged to use the free shuttle service from DCTA Old Town Station to access the festival grounds due to street closures and limited festival parking in Old Town Lewisville. A special shuttle also will run from Electric Cowboy, the official Lewisville Western Days after-party destination.

Event Headliners

Eli Young Band will be the featured act on Friday night, taking the Republic Services Main Stage at 10 p.m. This is a special stop on the band's "Keep on Dreaming" tour in support of its Strange Hours album, as the band was the headline act at Western Days in 2016.

Saturday's headliner will be Randy Rogers Band, closing out the weekend festival at 10 p.m. on the Republic Services Main Stage.

This is the fourth time the Randy Rogers Band has been a headliner at Western Days, having performed here in 2022, 2018, and 2017. The band formed in 2000 in San Marcos and burst onto the scene with its debut album, Live at Cheatham Street Warehouse. The band is a unique brotherhood fueled by a shared passion for making great music and strong commitment to each other.

Tamale Eating Contestants

Some of the world's top competitive eaters will be here in Lewisville for the World Tamale Eating Championship presented by Padrino Foods on Saturday.

The 10-minute contest will feature an elite field led by No. 3-ranked James Webb and No. 4-ranked Geoff Esper, who will battle for the title and a share of the event's $4,500 prize purse.

Last year, Joey Chestnut delivered a record-setting performance, consuming 96 Padrino tamales in 10 minutes to establish a new world record.

Webb enters the contest as the highest-ranked eater in the field and will face a familiar rival in Esper, a multiple-time champion of the event. They will be joined by No. 10-ranked Radim Dvoracek, No. 11-ranked Derek Hendrickson and No. 19-ranked Adrian Morgan. Also competing are Sergio Reyes Raya, Jocelyn Young, Greg Wilson, Alex Moose Perez, Nathan Biller, Elizabeth Salgado and Albert Bravo.

The winner will receive $1,750, followed by $1,000 for second place, $750 for third, $500 for fourth, $350 for fifth and $150 for sixth. The champion also will take home the handcrafted championship belt created by Odin Leatherworks in Old Town Lewisville.
