Investor Update: MapleStory: Idle RPG Coding Error and Player Refunds

Summary
This update informs our investors of Nexon's progress in resolving an issue related to a coding error that posted incorrect probability values for specific paid items in our game MapleStory: Idle RPG. Nexon is currently working through operational details in our plan to reimburse players who wish to receive a refund.
While we finalize the reimbursement process, we will keep our investors informed as we develop and review the financial impact on our results for Q4 and full-year 2025 as well as Q1 2026.

Background:
On November 6, 2025, Nexon released MapleStory: Idle RPG, a new experience from our MapleStory franchise worldwide[1]. The game is a free-to-play mobile experience that offers in-game purchases, co-developed by Able Games, and published by our wholly owned subsidiary, Nexon Korea. Quickly established as a hit, MapleStory: Idle RPG ranked among the top-grossing games in markets including Korea, Taiwan, and Singapore, and charted well in North America.

On January 25, we discovered a coding error which misapplied stated values for specific paid items, and compounding the problem, individuals responsible for operating the game at Nexon Korea neglected to notify players of the error and correction. These issues came to the attention of management when players posted concerns about the underperformance of purchased items.

Recognizing the error, Nexon immediately announced disciplinary action, process reforms, and to reaffirm trust with players, an offer of compensation and full refunds upon request for all in-game purchases.

Compensation and Refund:
MapleStory: Idle RPG's players worldwide will have the option to either receive in-game compensation or to request for full refund of all payments made from November 6, 2025 through January 28, 2026. To prevent abuse and protect users who do not receive refunds, accounts which receive cash payments will be restricted from further participation. Any payments made after January 28, 2026 are not eligible for refund. Details regarding the refund method and timing will be announced once finalized.

Expected Financial Impact:
We are currently reviewing the impact of this matter on our full-year consolidated financial performance. Taking the refund eligibility period into account, the impact on our full-year consolidated financial performance is expected to be greater in FY2025 than in FY2026. Based on this assessment, at this time, we have not identified a situation that constitutes an event which requires a revision to our 2025 full-year consolidated outlook under the standards of the Tokyo Stock Exchange. Should we determine that a revision is appropriate at a later date, we will promptly disclose such information as required by applicable rules.
