Meet our newest landscapers: Bernie, Pastrami, and friends.
The goats have got it going on at Dix Park. You could call it mob grazing!
When Raleigh Parks was looking to get rid of overgrown brush and weeds, staff decided to get creative.
That's where the goats come in. The herd is content spending their workdays munching on kudzu and other invasive species. The goat approach is environmentally friendly, plus they can get where mowers can't. So, there's no need for heavy equipment or costly crews. Rented from a local company, the crew of 32 goats will clear more than an acre of land over a period of ten days.
This is a fairly new and innovative approach for the City. Who knows, they could be baaaaa-aack.
