The Norman Police Department (NPD) arrested two individuals in connection with a fatal shooting in the 3300 block of 12th Avenue SE.
Officers responded to a report of a shooting near the pool at the apartment complex in the 3300 block of 12th Avenue SE at approximately 11:26 p.m. Tuesday. Once on scene, officers located a 22-year-old male with a gunshot wound. The male was transported to an area hospital where he later died due to injuries sustained.
The initial investigation indicates that there was a fight between several individuals near the pool at the apartment complex. During the course of the fight, the suspect, a 16-year-old male, produced a gun and shot the victim before leaving the area.
Officers were able to quickly identify and locate the individuals involved with the assistance of witnesses. The 16-year-old male was arrested on a complaint of first degree murder and possession of a firearm after adjudication. 22-year-old Kaydron Hutchins (DOB: 6/16/2003) was also arrested on one complaint of accessory after commission of felony. Both were booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center.
