Alpine County

One-Way Traffic Control Next Week

Alpine County- The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will perform various closures on Interstate 5 (I-5) and State Route 59 (SR-59), SR-99, and SR-140 for maintenance and construction operations. Work is scheduled to occur as follows:

State Route 89

  • One-way traffic control from the East Carson River to the SR-89/4 Junction for drainage work beginning Monday, November 18, through Thursday, November 21, from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Friday, November 22, 2024, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • One-way traffic control at the Markleeville Creek for bridge work beginning Tuesday, November 19, through Wednesday, November 20, 2024, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Motorists should expect 5-to-10-minute delays and use alternate routes whenever possible. This work is scheduled to occur as listed but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment/materials, and construction-related issues.
