FedEx expands service options for private customers in Austria

Vienna, October 10, 2024 - Federal Express Corporation, the world's largest express transportation company, is offering private customers in Austria even more flexibility and convenience through an expanded collaboration with myflexbox - the largest, open smart locker network in the German-speaking world.

Until now, FedEx customers have been able to have their shipments delivered to one of over 550 myflexbox parcel lockers in Austria. They are now also able to send and return parcels via the myflexbox parcel locker network.

The shipping and returns process is quick and easy. Customers take their FedEx labelled parcels to any myflexbox, scan the label or enter a code, follow the instructions on the screen and place the parcel in a locker at the respective parcel station.

"This expansion in our collaboration is an exciting building block of our e-commerce strategy, offering our customers even more flexibility and convenience", says Stefan Dries, Vice President Ground Operations Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Nordics at FedEx. "Customers want choice and convenience, and with the service expansion we are offering them even more options - 24 hours a day, seven days a week."

"The first-mile expansion means even more service for our customers," says Jonathan Grothaus, Co-CEO & Founder of myflexbox. "We are very excited about this area-wide expansion of our open smart locker network. It brings parcel services, e-commerce providers, infrastructure companies and consumers even closer together. By consolidating on one platform, we are making everyday life easier for all users who pick up, send and return parcels at central locations and thus save time and travel in particular".

Parcels measuring up to 37cm x 41cm x 61cm, weighing a maximum of 20 kilograms and originating from Austria are suitable for the new service. The value of the goods must not exceed 1000 euros, and dangerous goods shipments are excluded.

With its continued focus on the e-commerce market, FedEx now offers access to a network of over 40,000 out-of-home locations across Europe.
