The United States expresses its appreciation to Malaysia for hosting a productive meeting with Thailand and Cambodia on October 17. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to taking confidence building measures to de-escalate tensions along their shared border.
This is a critical step toward restoring trust between neighbors. The United States will continue to play a meaningful role in facilitating dialogue as both sides work together to foster a lasting peace. As part of that effort, the United States looks forward to a constructive General Border Committee meeting between Thailand and Cambodia.
