Grand Ole Opry Debut Set For July 7 Following First National Television Performance On CBS Saturday

U.S. Tour Dates With Alison Krauss & Union Station Continue Through The Summer And Fall

Theo Lawrence returns today with "You've Got What It Takes," a new original that conjures the romantic swirl of a chance springtime encounter. "A guy is walking through town and runs into the girl he loves," describes the Paris-born, Texas-based musician. "He can't say a word, but we get to know what she doesn't get to hear." Inspired by Brill Building craftsmanship and '60s Latin grooves - with a special nod to Jamaican guitar great Ernest Ranglin - "You've Got What It Takes" perfectly encapsulates the timeless style and soul that define Theo Lawrence as an artist with "sincerity you rarely hear today" (Western AF). The song will open his debut full-length album for Warner Records / Reprise Records, due later this year.

Even before the new record, 2026 has already proven to be a breakthrough year for Lawrence - and that momentum will continue when he makes his debut at the Grand Ole Opry on July 7. Earlier this spring, Lawrence performed on national television for the first time - taking over CBS Saturday Morning with new songs "Lonely Too Long" and "Dear Pillow." He's also in the midst of his biggest and most extensive American tour yet, playing 75+ dates this year with Alison Krauss & Union Station. Those shows will stretch through the summer and fall, including three nights at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium, and a hometown show at Austin's hallowed Moody Theater. While growing up in France, Lawrence - at odds with anything surrounding him at the time - fell in love with classic American artists like Charlie Rich, Burt Bacharach, Carole King, Dan Penn and Lee Hazlewood. The unique blend of these rich influences - and his modern upbringing an ocean away - result in Lawrence's truly singular sound; ushering in a new era of French Riviera flourish at the American motorlodge pool. On "You've Got What It Takes," he brings that energy to a top-notch band including longtime collaborator (and co-producer) Thibault Ripault on guitar, Billy Horton (Charley Crockett, Nick Waterhouse) on bass, Joe Roddy (The Point) on organ and engineer Alex Hall (JD McPherson, Nick Lowe) on drums and vibraphone.
