Rosen Secures Critical Funding for Law Enforcement, Water Infrastructure, Energy Programs in Nevada

WASHINGTON, DC - Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) helped pass the latest bipartisan government funding bill for Fiscal Year 2026, which includes over $49 million in community project funding she secured with Senator Cortez Masto for 32 key projects supporting Nevada's local law enforcement and infrastructure projects throughout the state. The bipartisan funding package also includes funding Senator Rosen fought for to strengthen Nevada's tourism economy, support wildfire suppression, preserve Lake Tahoe, improve energy efficiency in Nevada, and much more. This package includes the Commerce-Justice-Science, Energy & Water Development, and Interior-Environment spending bills.

"After working with communities across Nevada to hear about their priorities and challenges, I'm proud to have helped pass a bipartisan government funding package that supports their critical needs," said Senator Rosen. "This bipartisan legislation will help Nevada's local law enforcement upgrade equipment and enhance training, enable communities across our state to complete much-needed infrastructure work, and strengthen our tourism economy. One of my top priorities is working with both parties to deliver federal funding to our state, and I'll keep working to do exactly that."

Senator Rosen requested and secured over $49 million in Community Project Funding as part of this bill. Among these investments are 32 projects that are critical priorities for Nevada, including:

  • $1 million for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to procure equipment needed to support flight operations for search and rescue, routine patrols, and large-scale event security.
  • $3 million for Washoe County to acquire a Mobile Command Intelligence Vehicle (MCIV) for emergency preparedness and response.
  • $5 million for the City of Ely to purchase technology and upgrade a new 9-1-1 dispatch system that would significantly improve safety and response times for White Pine County residents and visitors.
  • $3.8 million for the City of Sparks to conduct phase one design and construction services to ultimately acquire backup power systems for the Truckee Meadows Water Reclamation Facility.
  • $2 million for the City of Elko to pay for the construction costs associated with rehabilitating a three million-gallon water storage tank.
  • $2.2 million for the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony to engineer and design a potable water pipeline from Lemmon Valley to the Hungry Valley Reservation, including route planning, sizing, and construction drawings.
  • $1,031,000 for the City of Henderson to implement a domestic violence and sexual assault response program.
