The pedestrian killed in a crash in the Sunnyside Neighborhood on September 5, 2026, has been identified as 25-year-old Simon A. Williamson. His family has been notified of his death.

Based on the investigation to date, the involved driver is not expected to face criminal charges.

No further information will be released at this time.

Pedestrian Killed in Crash in Sunnyside Neighborhood

This release is updated to correct an error in the call location. It's the 3600 block of SE Belmont St.

On Saturday, September 5, 2026 at 8:01 p.m., Portland Police officers assigned to Central Precinct responded to a crash in the 3600 block of Southeast Belmont Street in the Sunnyside Neighborhood. When they arrived they found an adult male pedestrian deceased at the scene. The involved driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with police.

The MCT is responding to investigate the crash. During the investigation, Southeast Belmont Street is closed between Southeast 34th Avenue and Southeast 38th Avenue.
