Five years ago, solving the daily Wordle puzzle became a morning ritual for fans globally. Since then, New York Times Games has challenged tens of millions of players, sparking group chat rivalries and friendly feuds over guess counts.
To honor five years of Wordle, New York Times Games is giving fans the V.I.P. (Very Important Player) treatment. Players can complete bonus Wordle puzzles from famous solvers and get access to V.I.P. concert tickets this summer. Plus, earn new special badges when they solve daily Wordle puzzles.
Starting this month, New York Times Games and touring musicians who love Wordle are bringing V.I.P. concert access to M-U-S-I-C fans nationwide. This will begin with five concerts by Nat & Alex Wolff, Young the Giant, Priscilla Block and Passion Pit - artists who have been solving alongside fans for the past five years.
Today, each artist will release a unique bonus Wordle puzzle (and hint) for fans using the Create Your Wordle Puzzle feature. Select solvers will receive V.I.P. concert tickets, artist merch and more at one of five shows across the country.
"There's nothing more stabilizing than waking up and immediately solving a Wordle puzzle," said Nat Wolff of Nat and Alex Wolff. "I've even had a few long-distance friendships saved by competing for who can solve the puzzle first. We're so happy to connect Wordle with getting fans tickets to our tour."
"New York Times Games is my most used app by far. Playing is the ritual that anchors my days on tour, which is an existence defined by constant change," said Sameer of Young the Giant. "Over 250 Wordle puzzles later, I am if not bettered, at least imbued with a sense of wonder and relief upon each solve. I like to think the game makes me a stronger lyricist. Very few things in our modern life allow you to live in the present this way."

Nat and Alex Wolff, Young the Giant, Priscilla Block and Passion Pit will each be posting unique Wordle puzzles on their Instagram accounts. Once solved, you can submit the answer for a chance to receive V.I.P. access at a concert this summer. Custom puzzles, plus details for each individual performance are provided below.
"I'm a sucker for a game that brings people together," said Priscilla Block. "Whether it's my friends on the bus or the fans out at a show, I love anything that gets people laughing, talking, and having a little competition. Wordle has become one of my favorite ways to connect, and I can't wait to play along with everyone this summer."
"Wordle is truly the only game I've ever managed to play consistently," said Michael Angelakos of Passion Pit. "The songs from my new record all tend to have memory, or our sense of remembering others and ourselves or who we are as a through-line, and playing Wordle sharpens mine. Having a parent with dementia makes me appreciate these kinds of mental exercises and daily routines so much more."
Celebrating achievements with in-game badges has become a rewarding new addition to New York Times Games, allowing players to commemorate their solves. New badges are released periodically to celebrate streaks and special holiday and milestone puzzles.
New York Times Games is launching two special Wordle badges players can earn to mark the milestone.
