For Immediate Release:

April 11, 2025

FARMINGTON, N.M. - Federal Indian Minerals Office Director Micah Runnels announced the office has moved to a new location at 304 N. Auburn Avenue, Suite C, Farmington, New Mexico, 87401.

The Federal Indian Minerals Office provides Indian trust services to individual American Indian beneficiaries in the management of their oil and gas mineral resources. The office works with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, the Bureau of Trust Funds Administration and the Bureau of Land Management under a memorandum of understanding to provide full customer service for Indian allotted mineral interests.

"Although the Farmington Federal Indian Minerals Office has moved to a new location in the city, we will work diligently to ensure that there will be few to no disruptions to services," said Runnels. "We are deeply committed to the beneficiaries we serve and to ensuring this transition goes as smoothly as possible."

The Farmington office is the first of its type, providing and improving oil and gas services for Navajo allottees, integrating the functions of BIA, BTFA, ONRR and BLM into a one-stop shop for individual Navajo mineral owners in the Four Corners Region. Its responsibilities include managing individual Navajo beneficiaries' oil and gas mineral resources on allotted lands.

The office was previously located at 6251 College Blvd., Suite B, in Farmington.
