Three at LMU among Los Angeles Business Journal’s “Indispensable” Leaders

Three Loyola Marymount University faculty and staff members were recognized on the Los Angeles Business Journal's inaugural "Indispensables " list, a selection of leaders outside of the C-suite in Los Angeles County who are making an outsized impact within their organizations.

Those named on the 2026 list are "trusted advisors, team builders, innovators, and problem-solvers whose leadership helps move their organizations forward every day," according to the LABJ. An offshoot of the LA500 and Valley 200 lists, The Indispensables highlights honorees from across industries, including finance and accounting, education, construction and architecture, media and marketing, sports and entertainment, and law.

Adam Grant, LLS '10, program director for LMU Loyola Law School's Project for the Innocent, is recognized for embodying the LMU mission "to develop persons for others" in every way. Grant helped establish the pro bono legal clinic, helping 24 wrongfully convicted clients to regain their freedom while training student advocates to go out into the world and continue their pursuit of justice. He is a driving force of the school's Attorneys for Others program, which serves food to homeless residents one Saturday a month, and he volunteers with Gallons of Love, which annually provides Christmas gifts to every woman in prison in California.

Courtney Klipp, director of health professions advising at LMU Frank R. Seaver College of Science and Engineering, is honored for her leadership in guiding students through the demanding medical school application process, providing each student with personalized, comprehensive support from course planning to interview preparation. Through the committee letter process she leads, Seaver College students have achieved acceptance rates well above the national average: 77% in 2023-24 and 68% in 2024-25. Ranked among the nation's top pre-health advisers, Klipp is the cornerstone of LMU's medical school pipeline, consistently developing confident, mission-driven future physicians.

Jacqueline Leung, assistant dean for undergraduate student success at LMU College of Business Administration, is honored for her transformative impact on the student experience, which has increased engagement by 200%. Since joining CBA in 2022, Leung has been committed to ensuring students have access to the resources and opportunities they need to thrive throughout their educational journeys. She oversees all co-curricular activities, leads the CBA Advantage program, collaborates with 18 student organizations, and drives student engagement across the college and campus community, embodying CBA's mission to develop business leaders with moral courage and creative confidence to be a force for good.
