The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is seeking nominees for the Walla Walla Sweet Onion Marketing Committee to fill seats for three members and three alternates for a two-year term of office, beginning June 1, 2026 and ending May 31, 2028. Nominations will be accepted at the Nominations Committee Meeting in Walla Walla, Wash. on Jan. 28, 2026.

To qualify, to nominate, and to vote as a producer member, you must own or be a person who is engaged in a proprietary capacity of Walla Walla sweet onions. Additionally, to qualify as a producer, you must have three years of experience in producing onions.
The committee is comprised of seven members. Four members represent producers, two members represent handlers, and one serves as a public member. More information about the committee is available on the Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) Walla Walla Sweet Onion Marketing Committee webpage.
Authorized by the Agricultural Marketing Agreement Act of 1937, marketing orders are industry-driven programs that help producers and handlers achieve marketing success by using their own funds to design and execute programs that they would not be able to do individually. AMS provides oversight to fruit, vegetable, and specialty crops marketing orders and agreements to help ensure fiscal accountability and program integrity.
