GSL Supports Passage of Critical Tornado Relief Funding Legislation in the Missouri House

"We encourage leaders at the state level to work as quickly as possible to provide funding to help with recovery"

ST. LOUIS - To support the thousands of people in St. Louis that have been impacted by the May 16 tornado, Greater St. Louis, Inc. today expressed its support for legislation set to come up for a vote in the Missouri House later this week that would provide $100 million in critical state funding to recovery efforts.

"The May 16 tornado was a tragedy in the truest sense. Our people are hurting, and we encourage leaders at the state level to work as quickly as possible to provide funding to help with recovery," said Dustin Allison, Interim CEO of GSL.

"We applaud leaders from both parties in the Missouri Senate that came together to provide $100 million in desperately needed support to the St. Louis community, and we ask their colleagues in the Missouri House to do the same and show those impacted by the tornado that the State is committed to supporting them as they work to rebuild."

The legislation passed by the Missouri Senate in a special legislative session called by Governor Mike Kehoe authorizes $100 million for disaster relief for St. Louis. The House is expected to take up the legislation this week.
