Greetings from the University of Minnesota Crookston. As we move further into the academic year, there is a great deal of positive momentum on campus, and we continue to be grateful for the strong connection we share with our community and region.
One of the best ways to experience that energy firsthand is by attending our athletic events and campus activities. Golden Eagle athleticsprovide exciting competition and a welcoming atmosphere for fans of all ages. From equestrian, hockey and basketball this winter, to tennis, softball, and baseball this spring, we invite community members to come out, support our student-athletes, and enjoy time on campus. Beyond athletics, we also continue to host concerts, lectures, exhibits, and performances throughout the year that are open to the public, such as our beloved International Dinner Series kicking off in March.
Later this month we will proudly celebrate the 51st anniversary of Ag-Arama, a long-standing tradition that highlights the deep agricultural roots of our campus and the important role agriculture plays in our region. For more than five decades, Ag-Arama has brought together students, alumni, and community members to celebrate innovation, education, and the future of agriculture. We are honored to continue this tradition and look forward to welcoming many of you to campus as part of the competition and celebration.
Our student-athletes are also being recognized for their success in the classroom. UMN Crookston Athletics recently received an Outstanding GPA Award, a reflection of the hard work, discipline, and commitment our students bring to both academics and athletics. This achievement speaks to our focus on developing well-rounded students who excel in all areas of their university experience. Congratulations and well done Golden Eagles!

Chancellor Mary Holz-Clause, Ph.D.Across the University of Minnesota System, important conversations are underway around the systemwide strategic plan, fittingly named Elevate Extraordinary 2030. On our campus, we are engaging faculty, staff, and students in discussions about how this plan aligns with our mission and how we can continue to strengthen our impact through teaching, research, outreach, and service. These conversations help ensure that UMN Crookston remains responsive to the needs of our region while contributing to the broader goals of the University of Minnesota.
As winter weather continues to impact activities and plans, we also want to acknowledge the importance of coordination and communication during challenging conditions. The safety of our students, employees, and visitors is always our top priority. We continue to work closely with surrounding communities and local school districts to make thoughtful decisions when weather impacts travel and campus operations, ensuring consistency and clarity whenever possible.
Thank you for your continued support of the University of Minnesota Crookston. We appreciate the many ways our community engages with our campus, and we look forward to seeing you at events and activities throughout the season. Go Golden Eagles!
